The municipality of Visp is located at the entrance to the Visp Valley where the Vispa flows into the Rotten. The small town is the capital and largest municipality of the Visp district. Today Visp is an important centre for the pharmaceutical and chemical industry and has grown to become the economic centre of the Upper Valais with around 10,000 jobs.
